Two Bishops

CHURCH NEWS: We Pray for the Eternal Repose of Bishops Tumulak and Beltrán

It is indeed a sad for the Church.

Most Rev. Leopoldo S. Tumulak, DD (1944-2017) of the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines passed away at 1:26 pm on 17 June 2017 at the Cardinal Santos Hospital in San Juan City. He was 72. The bishop was in and out of the hospital after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer early this year.

Just hours after Bishop Tumulak passed away, Most Rev. Rodolfo F. Beltrán, DD (1948-2017) of the Diocese of San Fernando, La Union passed away at 7:03 pm on 17 June 2017 at the UST Hospital in Manila. He succumbed to the cancer of the prostate which he had been suffering for the past few years. He was 68. He is the brother of Rev. Fr. Franklin F. Beltrán, OP. He studied Theology at the UST Central Seminary, University of Santo Tomas, Manila (1970-1975); Post Graduate - Licentiate/MA in Sacred Theology, U.S.T., Manila (1976-1977); and Doctorate of Philosophy - Angelicum University, Rome Italy (1985-1990)
